Jaxtr has promised that through its service, one can make phone to phone international calls to anywhere in the world including India freely or at local call cost.  Let’s try to verify its claims.

Claims of Jaxtr are :

1)  Jaxtr promises not only free international calls to India but also assures that they would be hassle free.

2)  While availing the services of Jaxtr for making free calls to India, one is not required to download any software thus ensuring that he need not be an expert in computers to make a beginning.

3)   In case of Jaxtr special voip phones are not required.

4)  Jaxtr also permits the use of mobile phones or landline phones to make international voip calls.

5)   It is not compulsory that a caller calling a Jaxtr user should be himself a Jaxtr user.

Now, these promises of Jaxtr can be crosschecked by the step-by-step use of it.

The initial step is to go to its home page jaxtr home page. Here the sign up is free.  After clicking the sign up button, a registration form appears which is simple to fill.  The next page which asks to find friends already using Jaxtr can be skipped.  Following page which suggests recommending a friend can also be skipped.  Thus it takes less than two minutes to open a Jaxtr account. Then, one has to verify his phone by filling the country, phone number and clicking call to verify.  Although the call cost here is 1jax/min, every month free credit of 100 jax is provided.  However, the call rate is 15jax/min in case of mobile phones thus bringing forth its limitation. However, a person based in supported countries including India, even though not a Jaxtr member, is given a local number thus enabling contact with him internationally with voip at local call cost even if not for free.
