MagicJack, MagicJack and VoIP
MagicJack (MJ) can work with a regular telephone. The sound quality of MagicJack is clear unlike Skype which has many times sketchy call quality even with the use of Skype-in phone. Besides, there are no additional charges for outgoing calls in MagicJack as is the case with Skype. Also, unlike Skype, where an area code could be selected but not the city, in MagicJack, an area code as well as the city could be specified. Not only that, by paying a small extra charge, even vanity numbers can be had with MagicJack. As a result, a yearly subscription for Skype is more than double that of MagicJack.
To operate a MagicJack, one has to just plug it into the USB port of the computer having high speed internet connection and plug in any phone or phone system. There is no need to pay any monthly bill with MagicJack. Plus, it provides free local and long distance calls unlike Skype. There are no contracts and no hidden charges or fees with MagicJack.
The only problem with MagicJack is that while choosing menus like pin codes, account numbers, extensions the touch-tone failed to work when the phone key pad or the MagicJack pad on the computer was used.
